In December, consumption showed a variation compared to the same period last year: -5.4%. In the conventional market, the variation was -1.0%, and in the electric market, it was -15.3%. The annual cumulative evolution stands at 11.1%, with -6.4% in the conventional market and 92.7% in the electric market.
Consumption corresponds to all the natural gas consumed monthly in mainland Portugal. It is broken down into two main market segments, as follows.
Electricity Market, which corresponds to natural gas consumed by combined-cycle power plants for electricity generation; and Conventional Market, which corresponds to natural gas for household and industrial consumption, excluding electricity generation.
Monthly variations are calculated vis-à-vis the same month of the previous year. Annual values concern the accumulated values up to the corresponding month and those for 12 months concern the twelve months ending in the corresponding month in comparison with the same period from the previous year.

Repartição da produção por fonte primária – carvão, gás natural, água, vento, sol, ondas, biomassa e outros. Representa-se ainda a importação, caso exista.
A linha mais grossa representa o consumo de electricidade e a linha mais fina indica a soma deste com o consumo em bombagem (consumo das centrais hidroeléctricas reversíveis, utilizado para bombear água de um reservatório para outro mais elevado e que será turbinada posteriormente).
Caso a produção seja maior que o consumo, significa que se está a exportar electricidade, sendo a exportação a diferença entre a produção e o consumo.
