ELECTRICITY
Breakdown of Electricity Production
Production breakdown, in real time, according to primary source – coal, natural gas, water, wind, sun, biomass, and others. These are available individually by selecting “Detailed” or grouped into renewables (water, wind, solar and biomass) and non-renewables (coal, natural gas and others) by selecting “Aggregated”. Imports are also represented, if they exist. If production is greater than consumption, that means electricity is being exported, with exports being the difference between production and consumption.
These values are provisional and the result of remote metering and estimates made by REN.

Electricity Consumption Forecast
Electricity consumption in mainland Portugal in real time supplied from the public network. Includes the losses in the transmission and distribution networks.
Actual consumption values are provisional and are the result of remote metering and estimates made by REN.
Expected consumption is determined by REN taking into account consumption values in corresponding periods, correcting them for a number of factors that influence them, such as atmospheric temperature and calendar effects.

Natural Gas
Transmission Network Inputs
Origin of the natural gas entering the NGTN (hourly values). Natural gas enters Portugal in two ways: via the interconnections with Spain through the high-pressure gas pipelines; and by sea, through the Sines terminal, in the form of LNG – liquefied natural gas. Additionally, natural gas may be stored in underground caves – Underground Storage – existing in the municipality of Pombal, and then injected back into the RNTGN.
Values are updated every hour. The information presented concerns the period from 0 a.m. to 0 a.m.. Note that on other pages the period shown refers to the gas day, defined between 5 a.m. and 5 a.m. of the following day.

Transmission Network Outputs
Natural gas outputs from the NGTN (hourly values), grouped by three destinations: interconnections, which correspond to the gas exported to Spain through the high-pressure gas pipelines; Underground Storage, which corresponds to the gas injected into the underground caves in the municipality of Pombal; and Supply for Consumption, which includes the deliveries to the Distribution Networks and to consumers connected directly to the Transmission Network. Transmission Network Total Inputs and Outputs
Total natural gas inputs and outputs of the NGTN (hourly values). The linepack variation throughout the day is also represented. The variation in the linepack is positive if the total gas entering the NGTN is greater than the total gas leaving, and negative otherwise.

Gas Demand Forecast
Total hourly natural gas consumption in mainland Portugal in real time.
The consumption concerning the conventional segment corresponds to natural gas for household and industrial consumption, excluding the consumption of the combined-cycle power plants that use natural gas as fuel for electricity generation.
In addition to the actual values, the forecasts up to the end of the day are also represented.
